Inclement Weather Preparation
It is that time of year again, when snow, cold and ice becomes part of our weather forecast. The District recognizes the unpredictability associated with winter weather and other unforeseen emergencies. The District’s goal is to have school, whenever possible, taking into account the safety of our students and staff. However, if we cannot, we will utilize an E- Learning day in place of an additional day at the end of the school year.
Each teacher will have plans ready for the students to continue learning during a snow day, cold day, or whatever emergency day we are faced with. Regardless of the reason we are not able to be in school, there will be curriculum and instruction delivered on a day it is deemed we cannot physically be present. These educational opportunities will look different at every level based on technology and content currently being delivered. In the event of a snow day, click on the
Kinnikinnick Learning Hub tab to the left. There you will find the students work board and attendance form.
While we will provide education, we also don’t want to take the fun out of a traditional snow day. Make sure you take the time to enjoy the outdoors with your children, if you are able to do so. E- Learning day work will be due on the Monday following an E-Learning Day. Therefore, providing everyone a weekend if more time is needed.
If you have changed your contact information since registration, please contact the school building secretary to update our records. Emergency days will be announced via school Facebook pages, email, text, phone and local news stations.
